The history of Darul Uloom Al-Arabiya Al-Islamiya is one of great sacrifice and ambition. It was the first establishment set up at the hands of our most esteemed Hadhrat Maulana Yusuf Motala Nawwarallahu Marqadahu, who founded it upon the instruction of his spiritual guide and master Hadhrat Shaykh Maulana Muhammad Zakariyya Kandhlawi. Its doors were opened to 16 students on 10th Shawwal 1395AH, corresponding to 16th October 1975.
In a bid to replace the windows, replace carpets, improve heating and enhance the cosmetic state of the Masjid, Classrooms and residential areas in Darul Uloom, we are launching this type of appeal for the first time.
The Main Jamaat Khana which, apart from Salah, is used for the Hifdh classes and Mutala (Revision Sessions) on a daily basis requires re carpeting together with improved heating facilities. Though window restoration has commenced in earnest, the day to day increased running costs of Darul Uloom together with other expenses of maintenance has scaled down the pace of restoration. Likewise, the Ilmiyyat classrooms wherein the discourses of Quran, Hadith and Fiqh among many other sciences are delivered on a daily basis are also in need of refurbishment.
The total cost of refurbishment is £990,000.
Partaking in this noble endeavour can only be for one’s benefit and salvation as this will be a source of Sadqah al-Jariyah for as long as all congregants and students continue to benefit from these utilities.
The Prophet ﷺ said: When the son of Adam dies, all but three of his actions cease; continuous charity (Sadqah Jaariya), knowledge by which people derive benefit and a pious son who supplicates for him. (Sahih Muslim).
This is a great opportunity to firstly acquire a continuous source of reward by aiding the cause of hundreds of students who will Inshallah continue to study at Darul Uloom, just as much as it is an opportunity to contribute towards the noble legacy of Darul Uloom.
